Is Maple X the same thing as maple water?
Maple water, also called sweet water or just sap, is the raw ingredient of Maple X, but is not the same thing. Maple X is about five times the concentration of maple water.
Maple sap, which is typically around 2% sugar, has a subtle hint of maple as its flavour. Maple X, in which the sap is boiled down to a 10% maple sugar concentration, features a distinctly maple flavour, varying in intensity based on the colour/grade of the drink, from Golden (delicate) to Very Dark (strong).
Is Maple X a maple syrup drink?
Certainly. As with maple syrup, Maple X is derived from 100% maple sap. Although few people would drink maple syrup, at 67% sugar, millions seem comfortable with a 10% sugar concentration. That’s consistent with most soft drinks, and less than a typical apple juice.
